  • John Basting '10


    John Basting is a Director on Cushman and Wakefield’s Global Hospitality Capital Markets team, a best-in-class hotel real estate advisory platform focused on investment sales, financing, and equity structuring. John held varying roles prior to Cushman and Wakefield, including Vice President of Asset Management at KH Advisers, an exclusive adviser to Kingdom Hotel Investments, and Vice President - Consulting at Hospitality Real Estate Counselors. John graduated from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration with a minor in Real Estate and concentration in Finance and Accounting.

    Morgan Fleischman '11


    Morgan Fleischman graduated from the School of Hotel Administration in 2011. Morgan is currently a Vice President at BlackRock in the Financial Planning & Analysis group. Prior to BlackRock, Morgan held a number of finance roles at American Express, where he partnered closely with Global Commercial Services and Global Merchant Services segments to provide financial management, investment, and analytical support. He also worked in the Corporate Planning & Analysis group, supporting company-wide financial planning and analysis for senior management. Before Treasurer, Morgan was one of the CHS NYC Hotel Reception Chairs.

    Hanif Jivraj


    Hanif Jivraj's most recent position was the Director of Revenue at The Gramercy Park Hotel New York. In the past he has held revenue positions at Yotel, Jumeirah Essex House, the London NYC and the Plaza Hotel. He has also worked at American Express and Orbitz. Hanif got his start in hotels from Hilton Hotels, having been at the Waldorf=Astoria, The Hilton at Short Hills and the New York Hilton.     Krista Rossidis '13


    Krista Rossidis has been working in hospitality marketing and sales for the last few years. Krista has worked in OTA hotel acquisitions and account management covering different markets such as the Mid Atlantic Region, Northeast territories and New York City. She works with hotel partners on growing revenues through strategic and competitive initiatives. Most recently, she joined Hopper, as the company expands into launching hotels into multiple markets including New York City, LA, Las Vegas, Chicago and Miami. Hopper is a new kind of travel company that is reinventing the way people plan and book travel by leveraging the power of mobile conversation and big data in the form of hotel and flight prices.

    James Nannos '11


    James Nannos leads the Hotel Partnerships Team at Stay Wanderful, where he's focused on hotel growth, loyalty programs, and customer success. Prior to joining Stay Wanderful, James was part of the original Breadcrumb POS team (acquired by Groupon), and has held numerous other startup and private-equity related roles. Outside of work, James is a Captain and Troop Commander of B-Troop, 1-104 Cavalry in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, where he deployed once as part of OEF-Kuwait. James received his B.S. from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, and his M.B.A. from Drexel's Lebow College of Business.

    Michael Adelstein '16

    Events – Head of CHS Annual Reception

    Michael Adelstein graduated from the School of Hotel Administration in 2016. He is currently an Asset Management Associate at Capstone Realty Group, a New Jersey based investment and development real estate group. At Capstone, Michael’s responsibilities include overseeing the financial reporting & forecasting, and project management for the company’s portfolio of roughly 3 million square feet of class A and B commercial office and retail properties. Prior to working at Capstone, Michael has worked for various NYC-based hotel & restaurant groups including: Amali restaurants, China Grill Management, Two Roads Hospitality, EMM Group, and Sixty Hotels.

    Rich Levins '13

    Past President

    Rich graduated from the Hotel School in 2013 with a Minor in Real Estate and concentrations in Real Estate Development and Information Systems. Rich is currently a Director at Fulcrum Hospitality, a boutique operating partner, asset manager, and transaction advisor in the lodging and gaming space and is primarily responsible for the preliminary underwriting, financial modeling, and asset management of Fulcrum's potential acquisitions and managed portfolio. Rich was one of the 2014 CHS NYC Hotel Reception Chairs and served as CHS NYC Events Chair for 2015 and 2016.

    Daphne Rayappu '12

    Daphne Rayappu graduated from School of Hotel Administration in 2012 with a Minor in Marketing for the Services Industry. Daphne is the Senior Lead, Business Operations - Enterprise Experience at WeWork. WeWork transforms buildings into beautiful, collaborative workspaces and provides infrastructure, services, events, and tech so its members can focus on doing what they love. As a student at Cornell, Daphne was involved in the Hotel School Ambassadors and interned with the Cornell Dining and Events department. Daphne has served as one of the CHS NYC Hotel Show Chairs, and CHS Events Board Member, and continues to stay actively involved with planning CHS Events.

    Erik Warner '98

    Advisory Board Chair

    Erik Warner is a Principal with Eagle Point Hotel Partners ("EPHP"), a venture between CarVal Investors (formerly known as Cargill Value Investment) and Ramsfield Real Estate. The company is an opportunistic hotel real estate investor, lender and asset manager. Mr. Warner graduated from the School of Hotel Administration in 1998. When he is not working he enjoys traveling with his family, sailing, photography, lion taming, food and wine.

    Cherie Bagwill '84

    80's Committee Chair

    Cherie is currently Vice President of Schrier Wirth Executive Search. She has been with the firm for more than 10 years and has successfully placed candidates in a wide range of hospitality related positions. She is a graduate of the Masters of Professional Studies Program at Cornell University's School of Administration and she received her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and International Studies from Rollins College.
